By Lisa Ansay — Taylor does have infection in the sinus area, and fluid has collected near the brain. As per many discussions between Neurosurgery, ENT, Skull-Base Plastics, Infectious Disease and the ENT/Neuro Surgeon, they want it out, so they are going in. And they are trying for surgery this Friday, pending insurance. If not Friday, it is ASAP next week.
It will be through the nose, and NOT a craniotomy (removal of part of the skull) and they don’t anticipate any surprises.
Hopefully it will be an outpatient procedure.
He’s not feeling terrific, and is still running fevers in the mid 101s F. His doctors feel this will help him feel much better.
