Sodium levels were high through the night, so by morning Taylor was not responsive – and vitals were unstable. Even the vitals that were typically rock solid were faltering, and T was struggling.
It seems there was a loss in translation between the previous medical floor and his new spot in neuro ICU, so the morning was spent ensuring all the appropriate meds were being administered, and nothing was slipping through the cracks. Once that was hammered out, he stabalized, rested and it all settled down.
By evening, he wasn’t waking. Nothing was rousing him, so he went for a CT scan pretty much immediately. (This staff and facility have been quite impressive – the Barrow neuro team.)
The only change that was made after the CT results was that the backpressure on his vent drain was modified to basically zero. So far the drain has produced nothing. Maybe this will allow for fluid to drain off. (So far the CSF collected during yesterday’s procedure has grown nothing.)
Approximately two hours after the beginning of the CT scan endeavor Taylor was responsive to the directions given by the neurosurgeon.
He is sleeping soundly.
