Wonderful day so far…PT and ST first thing this morning, and he was very responsive. He pushed his legs and gave thumbs-up for positive responses. All vitals are perfect, sodium is only a little above range, no fever since yesterday and he is looking great.
Fine motor skills are coming too. T traces his lines and cords with his thumb and forefinger, and plays with the ID bracelets on his arm. He has a stuffed bunny Meisha gave him for Easter and he holds it, passes it from one hand to the other, and checks out the legs, ears, etc. They told us fine motor would take a while, but it’s already being explored. If he’s trying to move his legs around and the hospital gown is in his way, he just pulls it out from under him.
T was asked this morning if he could feel his mustache, and he reached up and traced his upper lip with his forefinger. This afternoon Ron was reading to him and asked if he could hear him okay, and Taylor lifted both hands and gave a strong, double thumbs-up.
Woohoo!
