Taylor has been recovering well from his plastic surgery that took place earlier this week. Swelling peaks at 72 hrs post-op so yesterday was a tough one for him. He still participated in all his therapies yesterday, and is doing so again today.
Cold compresses save the day by bringing comfort and really taking care of the swelling. Most of the work and sutures are on the right side of his face this time, so one side is iced and the other is fine.
His dog Mancha came to visit him in his room yesterday – they allow pet passes here so that was nice for both of them.
Therapies continue Saturday, and rest is planned for Sunday.
Seriously, Taylor is working like I’ve never seen anyone work before. Speech Therapy was very painful for his jaw today, but he refused to quit. As the therapist went to leave his bedside when the (2nd) session was over, he said “thank you” and kissed the back of her hand.
He’s sleeping now with cold compresses on his eye, nose and cheek. Physical Therapy (2nd session) is in ten minutes.
