Yep. It’s a whole lot of dog for one house, and we wouldn’t have it any other way!
Mancha was dropped off last night by a very teary-eyed young lady whose family has fostered Mancha since Taylor’s accident.
The pack is back!
Many, many people contributed to the well-being of our dogs during this crazy time.
Friends of the Shelter in Los Alamos, New Mexico, and their associated humans were unbelievably kind and generous. They found foster care which provided an amazing, loving environment and I can’t thank them enough.
Jess, you have been an awesome ringleader in all this and without you the pack would NOT be back together now. We are truly grateful for what you pulled together for us with Friends of the Shelter, and for all the cool people in your life who provided so much.
Jacintha, from Proton Positive dog training ( I love that name) was arranged – and paid for by Friends of the Shelter as well. Jacintha made house calls twice weekly for the past few months to work with Stella, who is being prepared for Assistive Animal training for Taylor.
So cool.
But even before the pooches were placed in foster care, teams of folks cared for/provided for the pack back in Flagstaff. Friends and neighbors cared for them in Ron’s home for weeks before they were all placed in loving homes.
We are so grateful for all the wonderful people in our lives who give so much.
I wish I had a camera this morning for Taylor’s first super dogfull wake-up call. He had Izzy on his pillow with her nose tucked up behind his head; Mancha was on the floor with his face wedged between Taylor and I so Taylor could reach his ears; and Stella was curled up behind Taylor’s knees, chin up on his hip.
And Taylor, grinning ear-to-ear.
So cool.
