Dueling Banjos

By

Good afternoon everyone,
This is Taylor’s Uncle Jim again with an update.   First of all, how cool
to be here.  Wish I could share the feeling.

Taylor had an eventful day. His plastic surgeon visited.  This was his third visit since Taylor came to Phoenix; he’s been following Taylor’s case and waiting for the right time to do his magic.  He ordered a CT scan which was performed today in preparation for surgery  which is next Monday afternoon. The Doc will restabalize the work previously done.

Next was a visit by the speech therapist who shared an image of T swallowing.  Taylor’s effort in doing so was evident, ending in another milestone.

This afternoon while Ron and I were hanging with T, Ron pulled out the guitar and struck a few notes.  After a bit Taylor reached for the guitar, carefully positioned it and proceeded to pick “dueling banjos” perfectly.  He smiled while Ron and I teared up and laughed out loud. He explored the guitar a little while longer, then indicated he was done.

Additionally, Taylor took several steps, stood up from his lounge chair, performed his own oral hygiene, and directed us best he could as we assisted in his many transports around the hospital.

Taylor has had a busy Saturday.  Lisa and Ron are awsome and a joy to watch as they each lovingly care for their son.  Of the efforts of these three, we can all be proud.  Again, the results of your prayers are evident.   Thank you.    UJ
