Update 04/28/12

Taylor is still resting, recovering, and beginning to regain his strength from his series of surgeries this past month.

Physical Therapy came by for the first time yesterday, and Taylor walked with help and a walker for a short lap around the unit.  The sutured leg/hip is quite sore, so he walks cautiously, with a bit of a limp for now.

He has been enjoying various Pandora stations i.e…Bob Marley, classical guitar, and the Jeff Dunham or Russel Peters comedy stuff.

But mostly he sleeps, and rests.  When he is awake, he is quite awake, but things are quiet right now.

Doctors are not surprised that he is not doing cartwheels down the hallways yet; they explain that these surgeries actually pile on a bit, and they anticipated a slower recovery than what we’ve grown accustomed to in the past.

Sodium levels are wavering a bit and he is running fevers, so he is on antibiotics, and doctors are in no hurry to send him “home”.  They want to be sure all is well, and they would like to see his PT/OT/ST back to what it was before the surgeries began before they discharge him to Outpatient Therapy.
