Patience

By

Taylor had a few appointments today: lumbar puncture; an “echo”; physical therapy; occupational therapy and two hours of listening to his music.

That was a lot for him.

His temp was normal for most of the day, although it did reach 101F and was lowered quickly with a cooling pad.  Vitals were all very good today, and he was off the ventilator for all his appointments, and had been since 4am.  His lungs are clear.

He slept through the day, which was a little scary (for me, not the medical staff), but just because he is usually moving around quite a bit.  He moved a little, but it was a very quiet day.

No definitive results on the CFS from the LP; they need to see of something grows (bacteria) from the sample to know for sure. Waiting for these results has been agonizing, so I asked the charge nurse to see if there was any information available.  She read in the chart that initial analysis indicated “no organisms found”.  So now we wait.

The hope is, that what the MRI is showing is inflammation and not infection.  The CSF is the only means for diagnosis of what is seen on the MRI; they present similarly.

No activities are planned for tomorrow.  Not a lot happens on the weekends, except doctor visits.  No rehab.

The messages for T have been awesome, and they are read and reread to him.

Prayers are being answered in many different ways through all of this.

Tears are shed, but my faith is strong.  I’ve seen some of God’s miracles; even lived some of God’s miracles.  Nothing is too much for Him.  I see things throughout the day that make me just shake my head and smile.  He is BUSY!

We must be patient…
